Uploading Files
MediaNest supports images, audio and MP4 video. Files are stored on AWS S3 and streamed from media.medianest.app.

The upload page accepts these formats. An .mp4 file must be a real MP4 video; a renamed file of another type is refused.

The Upload page shows your exact limit, which can differ from this table if your account has a custom limit.
How to upload
- Open the Upload page.
- Drag your files onto the upload zone, or click Browse Files to select them.
- Click Upload. Each file shows a progress bar.
- Videos, and any file over 20 MB, are sent in 5 MB parts. Keep the tab open until the upload finishes.
Videos play as uploaded: there is no transcoding, so use an MP4 that browsers can play (H.264 video with AAC audio is the safest choice).
Duplicate detection
For videos and files over 20 MB, MediaNest calculates a SHA-256 checksum. If the file is identical to one you already have, you are told so and the duplicate is not stored again.
